House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has slammed Democrats as “the party of crime” in a new video.
McCarthy hit back at the Democrats on Thursday as the party tried to garner interest in their anti-Trump Jan. 6 Committee hearings.
“The Democrat Party is for lawlessness and the breakdown of society,” McCarthy said in a tweet accompanying his video.
“While they defund the police, violent crime is skyrocketing in our communities.
“Enough is enough,” the House Minority leader declared.
The video shows numerous Democrats either demonizing police or talking about defunding or abolishing police law enforcement.
Those featured in the video include Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Cori Bush (D-MO), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, and others.
The video also features multiple clips from news programs highlighting violence in Democrat-run areas.
After highlighting the aforementioned content for several minutes, the video concludes by stating on the screen:
“As Democrats in Washington abuse their power to attack their political opponents, they are ignoring America’s crime crisis.”
