Kyrsten Sinema Slams Biden for Refusing to Visit Border: ‘No-Brainer’

Former Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) has slammed President Joe Biden for refusing to visit the southern border, arguing that the move should be a “no-brainer” for “anyone who is responsible for setting or making policy.”

Sinema, who quit the Democratic Party earlier this month and registered as an independent, blasted Biden during a new interview with Fox News producer Rich Edson.

“I absolutely think the president should visit the border,” Sinema told Edson.

“In fact, I think anyone who is responsible for setting or making policy on the border should visit the border.

“I mean, that’s that’s a no-brainer, right?”

Sinema announced she had re-registered as an independent on December 9.

The move came following two tumultuous years during which she and Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) came under fire for refusing to back their fellow Democrats to scrap the filibuster for legislation.

The refusal effectively scuttled the Democrats’ legislation on several issues.

Edson tweeted earlier that Sinema announced she would be joining Republican Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and John Cornyn (R-TX) on a trip to the border.

The Arizona senator also reportedly criticized Biden and former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump for not doing the federal government’s “duty” on the border.

During the Fiscal Year 2022, United States Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) encountered over 2.3 million migrants, Fox News reported.

Another 230,000 were encountered just in October, the first month of the new fiscal year, while another 600,000 migrants evaded CBP, according to official figures.

Sinema and Tillis reportedly started work on legislation that would grant citizenship to those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program while reinstating Title 42.

Title 42, a successful Trump-era public health order, is set to expire on December 21 following a ruling by United States District Judge Emmet Sullivan.

The Biden administration asked the Supreme Court Tuesday to block legal efforts by Republican states to keep Title 42 in place.
