Lauren Boebert: ‘Biden Is Afraid of Elon Musk’ Because ‘Regime’ Wants to ‘Silence Conservatives’

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has accused Democrat President Joe Biden of being “afraid of Elon Musk” because he wants to protect free speech.

During a press conference, Boebert said the “Biden regime” wants to “use American tax dollars” to “silence conservatives.”

The Colorado congresswoman made the comments while calling on Congress to overrule Biden and pass her Protecting Free Speech Act.

Her bill would end Biden’s controversial “Disinformation Governance Board” and fire its chair Nina Jankowicz.

Boebert said: “Because the Biden regime is afraid of Elon Musk and free speech, they want to use American tax dollars to fund this new disinformation board to continue to silence conservatives.

“I wouldn’t trust Biden and his incompetent misfits to take care of one of my goats.

“I’m calling on Congress to pass my Protecting Free Speech Act, terminate this Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth,’ fire Nina Jankowicz, and prevent the Biden regime from silencing the American people.”

Boebert is not the only one sounding the alarm about Biden’s new “Ministry of Truth.”

Many on the Left, such as liberal talk show host Bill Maher, are also raising concerns about the board.

Maher said:

“But then here’s from the Department of Homeland Security, ‘Disinformation is defined as false information that is deliberately spread with the intention to deceive or mislead.’

Well, you could have said that about ‘If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.’

“Yes, they’re right to compare this to Orwell in the ‘Ministry of Truth.’

“That’s exactly what it sounds like.

“It said also, here’s a phrase, ‘can take many forms.’

“Okay, now we’re going faster down the slippery slope, ‘including but not limited to’ the two I mentioned okay, so government should not be involved in deciding what’s true or not true.

“Because a lot of people are saying and my follow-up question would be, ‘Who do you think the truth czar is going to be in 2025?’”

Former Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), who says she’s on the DHS advisory committee, slammed the group, saying: “I don’t get this piece.”

Harman said she was not consulted about the board before it was announced.

She added that the board would be “fine” if it was “confined” to narrow missions but if it broadens its authority it “would be highly unfortunate.”

Maher brought up Jankowicz’s comments about wanting to “essentially edit Twitter” in order to “add context to certain tweets.”

“Oh, you mean like what Twitter is?” Maher said.

“That’s what Twitter is.

“When somebody says something and you add context.

“These are not bright people in our government.”
