Several liberal groups have revealed that their members have been scrambling to buy guns before President Donald Trump is sworn back into power.
A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer revealed:
“The national Liberal Gun Club said it has received thousands of training requests since the election, more than in all of 2023.”
According to the report, a quarter of those requests are from the LGBTQ community.
Meanwhile, the Socialist Rifle Association and the Pink Pistols are also reporting a surge in memberships.
The Pink Pistols’ slogan declares:
“Armed Gays Don’t Get Bashed.”
Matthew Thompson, a New Jersey resident who is gay, explains:
“The people I’ve been seeing on the left and the gay people who are out purchasing guns for the first time, it’s all about self-defense and fear.
“We’re not looking to arm up and storm the Capitol.
“We just don’t want to be put in concentration camps.”
Arming up is not the only precaution liberals are taking, however.
One of Baltimore’s Club Car owners, Ryan Haase, is urging gay Americans to get married before January 20.
“Same-sex marriage is both a right and privilege that we need to celebrate and protect,” Haase said.
“We want to encourage and support anyone in our community who wants to get married prior to any impending policy changes that might occur over the next four years.”
A recent report by SokNews highlighted a man who lives in Philadelphia who claims to be a “transgender woman.”
He is also considering armed self-defense ahead of Trump’s inauguration.
“Three months before the election, that’s when the alarm bells started to ring,” the transgender said.
“Minorities that are armed are more difficult to legally oppress.”
The transgender claims that “hate crimes or terrorist attacks” will increase under President Trump.
“In the event of hate crimes or terrorist attacks, knowing that, ‘OK, I’m personally armed and I can protect my property and people that are close to me’,” he said.
However, Trump’s last presidency did not see an increase in “hate crimes or terrorist attacks.”
Yet, there was an increase in leftist violence, particularly during the Antifa and Black Lives Matter-led rioting and looting in 2020.
The Pink Pistols also noted a surge in inquiries with more than two dozen chapters across the United States.
Pennsylvania gun safety group leader “Madeline” Shearman, a male who claims to be a “trans woman,” said:
“There’s definitely a feeling among LGBTQ individuals: ‘If I can’t protect myself, who will?’
“I feel that way myself.”
At a recent SRA training session in West Philadelphia, attendees learned the basics of Pennsylvania’s gun laws, safe handling practices, and the realities of firearm ownership.
Organizers stressed the duality of guns as tools of defense and potential sources of harm.
“Guns are weapons, and they’re really good at what they do, which is killing things,” one instructor said.
“85 percent of suicides attempted with firearms lead to death.
“So you have to be mindful if this is something you want to bring into your life.”
Doug, a male who claims to be “nonbinary” and uses awkward “they/them” pronouns, is a first-time gun owner.
He attended the class before purchasing an AR-15.
Concerned about potential future restrictions on firearm purchases for “gender-nonspecific individuals,” he said his decision was rooted in a broader distrust of the country’s political trajectory.
“This country is not on very solid footing,” Doug said.
“As a Boy Scout, I’d rather be prepared.”
It’s not clear where he got his information about gun restrictions for “gender-nonspecific individuals,” however.
