Kayleigh McEnany Demands Justice for NYC Bodega Worker: ‘What Kind of Sick, Twisted Place Are We Sitting in Here’

Kayleigh McEnany has slammed the “sick, twisted” policies in New York City that led to a murder charge for a bodega worker who killed an attacker in self-defense.

Jose Alba was arrested and charged with murder after stabbing and killing a career criminal who was attacking him.

The store’s security footage clearly shows Alba acting in self-defense and he is seen resisting an altercation for some time while being attacked by the violent thug.

Alba was in his bodega when a woman came in and tried to buy a bag of chips with her EBT card.

EBT is a public benefit program compromised of Food Assistance (formerly Food Stamp) – Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and Family Assistance (FA) – Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) or any other emergency or special cash benefits.

Some of those programs restrict what you can buy, but we do not know why her card was denied.

The woman appeared to blame the store and went back to her car to bring in her boyfriend to confront the staff over the incident.

The boyfriend, Austin Simon, who has an extensive criminal record, walked into the store and violently attacked Alba.

Simon was an expert in thuggery and his prior arrests include robbery and assault.

He had also served time in state prison on a 2016 conviction for assaulting a police officer.

WATCH (WARNING: GRAPHIC VIOLENCE):

“I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone,” McEnany said of the case.

“What kind of sick, twisted place are we sitting in here in the middle of New York City, where this man who is defending himself is put in jail?

“Simon came back reportedly about 10 minutes later with a mission to confront this individual, as you point out, shoved him against a wall.

“As you point out, grabbed him on the back of a neck.

“And all he did was defend himself.

“Alba has no criminal history.

“He’s just a good, hardworking person who immigrated to this country and has been a law-abiding citizen.

“His daughter said, ‘It was either him or the guy at the moment. He’s never hurt anybody. He’s never had an altercation where he had to defend himself. This is the first time for him.’

“So you have to make a choice between your life or going to Rikers Island, which we all know is a pretty brutal place.

“Thank goodness we live in a country that’s trial by jury,” she said.

“I hope these charges are dropped.”
