Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he was vindicated when he saw a CBO score of Democrat President Joe Biden’s latest spending boondoggle.
The score shows Biden’s plan would add another $3 trillion to the deficit over 10 years if the spending was permanent.
He held a press conference to warn America what is at stake if the Democrats force Biden’s Build Back Better spending bill through.
Graham said: “I am urging the Democratic Party to stop the madness.
“Stop Build Back Better because Build Back Better is going to be a death blow to our economy.
“Joe Manchin has been wanting to know without gimmicks what would the bill cost. We now know it more than doubles. I’ve done what Sen. Manchin said somebody should do.
“What I think will happen is that Joe will take these numbers and he will start making decisions about what comes next, and my hope is that Sen. Manchin will say, ‘Stop, shelve Build Back Better until we find better answers to where inflation is headed,’” Graham said.
“As more of the real details outlined in the basic framework are released, what I see are shell games, budget gimmicks that make the real cost of the so-called $1.75 trillion bill estimated to be almost twice that amount, if the full time is run out, if you extended it permanently,” Manchin last month but he has been quiet of late.
Now the Dems and their friends in the media scoff at these numbers and say the new spending is not permanent so this CBO score is unfair.
“The Republicans are so desperate to justify their opposition to the popular, much-needed provisions in the Build Back Better Act that they’ve resorted to requesting fake scores based on mistruths,” Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said: “Congress and President Biden have made clear: any future extensions of the life-changing provisions of Build Back Better will be fully paid for, as they are today.”
Ether the smartest man in the world, Elon Musk, who agrees with Lindsey that this bill must be stopped and is not buying one word of Dem spin.
