Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot has tried to blame the media for people feeling unsafe in her city as violent crime continues to spiral out of control.
Lightfoot refuses to accept responsibility for soaring crime rates and insists on passing the blame.
Murders, carjackings, and other violent crimes have skyrocketed under Lighfoot’s leadership.
Rather than admit that her anti-police policies have caused the crisis, the mayor is trying to downplay the crime rates and claim the media is blowing the issue out of proportion.
Gregory Pratt, Chicago Tribune reporter, said: “It’s a day ending in Y: Mayor Lori Lightfoot holds news conference to say shootings and homicides are down in Chicago.
“Doesn’t mention that carjackings and downtown violence are up.
“Meanwhile, a nonprofit praises the city’s efforts.
“Lightfoot is now blaming the media for people feeling unsafe, challenges the press to ‘Report the numbers’ that crime is down.
“We always include those numbers @chicagotribune — but also the context that crime remains high, even with improvements.”

It gets worse for Lightfoot.
According to Breitbart:
At least 34 people were shot, three of them fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
Breitbart News noted at least 20 people were shot Friday into Saturday evening alone in the Windy City, and one of those shooting victims succumbed to their wounds.
ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reports that the total number of shooting victims was at least 34 by Monday morning, with two additional shooting fatalities.
The first of the two additional fatal shootings occurred Saturday night at 11:45 p.m. “in the 600-block of West 89th Street,” when a man in his early 20s was shot multiple times while standing outside.
The man was shot “in the face, neck and chest,” and transported to a hospital, where he died.
A 21-year-old was shot numerous times and killed Sunday morning at 12:40 a.m. “in the 4700 block of South Union Avenue.”
