Alarming details have emerged regarding an Indiana man who was arrested for making multiple death threats against X boss Elon Musk.
Musk is certainly no stranger to receiving death threats as he’s one of the most well-known and successful people on planet Earth.
Those threats have dramatically increased since Musk endorsed President Donald Trump and were further amplified when he was selected to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Luckily, a particular crazy person from Indiana wasn’t able to follow through on the threats he made against Musk.
According to Breitbart, 28-year-old David Cherry has threatened to “gut” the DOGE chief.
Cherry was arrested by Indiana State Police earlier this week after he was charged with making death threats against Musk on social media.
Law enforcement officials in Texas alerted the Indiana State Police to Cherry’s online death threats, according to police reports.
Cherry, a man obviously stricken with severe Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), made several shocking social media posts revealing his plans for killing Musk.
Ironically, Cherry posted his threats on X, the social media platform owned by Musk.
“In an affidavit filed Thursday in Harrison County, Indiana Superior Court, investigators identified several posts made on social media platform X under the username @effective_pawn,” the report stated.
The posts were specific and disturbing, to say the least.
One was a direct threat to “plant a bomb” in Musk’s home.
“You’re robbing the American people,” Cherry posted on X.
“We will gut you and parade your corpse through the streets.”
“I am going to plant a bomb in Elon Musk’s house,” another one of Cherry’s posts stated.
Breitbart noted:
“The Indiana officers were able to ping a cellphone to locate Cherry, who they found working at a Batteries Plus in Clarksville, Indiana.
“He was taken into custody at the location, and later told police he posted the statements to be ‘edgy’ and get attention.”
Users across social media reacted to the news of Cherry’s arrest.
“If Trump and Elon are driving you batty, that’s not their fault, it’s yours,” one X user pointed out.
“YOU have control over your thoughts.
“You can choose to consume media that whips you up and makes you miserable, or you can choose to focus on things that have more meaning.”
Another X user wrote:
“It is time for more arrests and prosecution of people doing this.
“It is not a free speech issue.”
While it probably won’t be the last threat on Musk’s life, at least this lunatic was caught.
