Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is preparing legislation to defund the Democrats’ special counsel investigating President Donald Trump.
Democrat President Joe Biden’s weaponized Department of Justice (DOJ) is targeting Trump with politically motivated charges in an effort to derail his 2024 reelection campaign.
Trump is the current frontrunner in the race and he is soaring in the GOP primary.
The DOJ launched the latest indictment against Trump at the same time as congressional investigators revealed evidence that Joe Biden allegedly received millions of dollars in bribes from foreign nationals while serving as Obama’s vice president.
In response to the attacks, Greene how vowed to take down Biden’s “entire investigation.”
“This morning, I’m writing an appropriations rider to DEFUND Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office and entire investigation,” she tweeted.
She also promised to vote against any appropriations bill that funded the “weaponization of government.”
“I will not vote for ANY appropriations bill to fund the weaponization of government,” she added.
“I hope every one of my Republican colleagues will join me.”

Last Thursday, Smith charged Trump with 31 separate counts of alleged willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act.
It is the first time in history any president has been charged with violating the Espionage Act.
The charges came the same day House Oversight Committee Republicans gained access to an FBI document detailing an alleged bribery scheme involving Biden and his family.
The document includes information about an informant who alleged that Joe Biden and his son Hunter were engaged in a bribery scheme with a Ukrainian executive.
They were allegedly both paid $5 million each while Joe Biden was vice president.
There has been a rising chorus of calls for Republicans to impeach Biden since the indictment.
Greene has been one of the few House Republicans calling for Biden’s impeachment since the beginning of his administration.
She renewed those calls after the special counsel indicted Trump.
