Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has filed a complaint with the House Ethics Committee against a Democratic staffer who was caught defacing posters outside her office.
The aide, Timothy Hysom, serves as chief-of-staff for Democrat Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).
Greene issued a statement announcing she was taking action over the harassment from the high-level Democratic staff member.
“Every representative should be secure in their person and property while on the Capitol grounds and in the various House office buildings,” Greene said.
“Yet, over the last six months, Timothy Hysom, Chief-of-Staff for Representative Jake Auchincloss, has repeatedly defaced posters hanging outside of my congressional office.
“Hysom used various derogatory comments to denigrate my sincerely held religious beliefs that there are only two genders made in the Image of God.
“I am requesting that the Committee on Ethics immediately investigate the conduct of Mr. Hysom toward my office over the last 7 months.
“Every Member of this body deserves the same level of due process,” the congresswoman added.
“Consistency and impartiality would compel you to investigate the matter merely on principle.”
According to a police affidavit issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Hysom defaced Greene’s property several times between January and February of 2022.

The affidavit describes one of the incidents, saying:
Officers on scene discovered a poster located in the hallway immediately outside the office House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene had been defaced with a sticker that was approximately the size of an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper and read “Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ The poster stated ‘There are Only Two Genders: Male and Female Trust the Science.'”
