Matt Gaetz Grills FBI Director Christopher Wray: ‘Are You Protecting the Bidens?’

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) grilled FBI Director Christopher Wray during a congressional hearing today about the bureau’s handling of investigations into Democrat President Joe Biden and his family’s shady foreign business dealings.

Gaetz started off by reading out a WhatsApp message sent by Hunter Biden to a Chinese Communist Party-linked businessman:

“I’m sitting here with my father,” Hunter warned his Chinese associate in the text message.

“I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge, that you will regret not following my direction.

“I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

After reading out the messages, Gaetz said to Wray:

“Sounds like a shakedown, doesn’t it, director?”

Wray responded that he was not going to make any comment about the obvious shakedown.

Gaetz fired back: “You seem deeply uncurious about it.

“Almost suspiciously uncurious.”

Gaetz then asked the million-dollar question: “Are you protecting the Bidens?”

“Absolutely not,” Wray said.

Gaetz said: “You won’t answer the question about whether or not that’s a shakedown, and everybody knows why you won’t answer it.

“Because, to the millions of people who will see this, they know it is.

“And your inability to acknowledge that is deeply revealing about you.”
