In a bizarre speech, Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has claimed that President Donald Trump is trying to start “a civil war.”
Waters made wild allegations during a press conference for the Congressional Black Caucus.
However, Waters did not provide any evidence to support her accusations against the president.
Waters continued her inflammatory remarks by claiming that Democrats are just trying to do “like Doctor Martin Luther King told us to do.”
“I’m worried that Trump is on the edge of creating a civil war,” she claimed.
“He alluded to it more than once.
“He alluded to the fact that if he did not get reelected, that there could be a civil war.”
She claimed that this alleged threat from Trump has led the Democrats to “live and do, like Doctor Martin Luther King told us to do.”
“He taught us to organize and to protest, but he taught us nonviolence,” she said.
“He taught us nonviolence.
“That was the center,” she added.
“That was the core of his message.
“And we live with that all the time.
“No matter how upset we can get, no matter how angry we can get.
“We live with what we’ve been taught.”
Waters claimed that Trump was putting people “in a position where hungry people are going to be on the street, where nonprofits who were waiting for their checks are not going to get them, where seniors waiting for their Social Security check will not get it – where poor families with children will not get what they believe the government has agreed to do.”
“And so when that happens, what does Trump expect?
“Oh, I believe he expects violence,” she claimed.
“I believe he expects confrontation.
“I believe he’s working toward a civil war.”
WATCH:
This is not the first time Waters has made salacious claims about Trump, however.
Last summer, Waters issued a wild warning to the American people during an unhinged appearance on national television.
Without evidence, Waters claimed that the possibility of Trump’s reelection is a “threat” to “millions of people.”
According to Waters, Trump “threatened” that “there will be blood in the streets” if “he does not win” reelection in November.
During the MSNBC interview, Waters claimed Trump promised there would be “more killings” of Americans, “particularly people of color.”
Waters explained that the alleged “violence” will be unleashed by Trump due to his “desire to reap revenge.”
“Donald Trump has said that if he does not win, it is going to be fraud, and because it is going to be fraud, there will be blood in the streets,” she claimed.
“He threatens about a civil war, and he threatens there’s going to be violence.”
“I would say all of this talk is motivational with many of those who are racist, who are sitting at home listening to him, and they are taking him up on his threats even before the elections take place,” she continued.
“It is about thousands, maybe millions of people being threatened and being at risk because of Donald Trump and his desire to reap revenge on anything and everybody.”
