Meghan McCain’s New Book Flops Hard, Sells Fewer Than 300 Copies

Meghan McCain’s new book “Bad Republican” has flopped massively, selling fewer than 300 copies in the two weeks since its release.

“According to an NPD BookScan provided to Secrets, it sold just 244 copies in the first few days,” the Washington Examiner reported.

McCain, famous for reminding us she is the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, is denying that the book is a failure, however.

She claims that reports on the flop are “clickbait,” arguing that she’s “proud” of those who “consumed” her book.

“My book Bad Republican was released @audible_com seven months ago and both I and @audible_com have been thrilled with the response and sales,” McCain said on Twitter.

“The hard copy was just soft released meant simply as a collectible for people who have already downloaded and consumed it.

“Cheap & false headlines meant simply for clickbait and to be nasty will not diminish how proud I am of Bad Republican and the response from so many.

“I am happy with everything related to my book and thank you to anyone who consumed it on any medium and has supported me. xo”

According to publishers weekly when book sales were at their peak in America, “The average book in America sells about 500 copies.

“Those blockbusters are a minute anomaly: only 10 books sold more than a million copies last year, and fewer than 500 sold more than 100,000.”

The Amazon blurb for her book says:

“She tells of growing up the daughter of an American icon who shaped her life and details the heartbreaking final moments spent by his side.

“She recalls her (mis)adventures on the New York dating scene and brings us up to speed on meeting her now-husband.

“We hear her views on cancel culture and internet trolls as well as life backstage as the sole Republican at America’s most-watched daytime talk show—and why she decided to leave.

“Unsparingly honest, deeply relatable, and highly entertaining, Bad Republican is as personal as a story gets.

“It’s a memoir imbued with an unmistakable maverick spirit.”

One reviewer was not impressed giving it one-star writing:

“I was so looking forward to reading this as I am an independent and appreciate someone who can see all sides,” the review reads.

“What I got was a whiny little girl who complained about LIFE everything in life that EVERYONE has to deal with and most do it without feeling sorry for themselves.

“She is beyond blessed with family support and financial resources and she still whines about EVERYTHING that is simply life.

“So sorry I wasted my time.”
