Former First Lady Melania Trump announced that she has inked a new deal for “exclusive communications” with the social media platform Parler.
She plans to make Parler her “social media home,” the company said today.
Melania already has a relationship with Parler as the platform is currently powering her blockchain technology and nonfungible token platform, MelaniaTrump.com.
President Donald Trump will soon be releasing his new social media network, and Parler rival, Truth Social.
However, there is no word how the special arrangement Melania agreed to with Parler will impact that.
Melania also has active Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts and she did not say if her partnership with Parler will affect her activity on those platforms.
Melania issued a statement celebrating the social network because it “empowers its users to foster productive discourse.”
“I am excited and inspired by free speech platforms that give direct communication to people worldwide.
“Parler has been on the forefront of utilizing Web3 technology and empowers its users to foster productive discourse.”
“In the time that Parler and Mrs. Trump have been working together, we have found a new level of productivity and engagement with both her, her team, and her brand,” Parler CEO George Farmer said in a statement.
“Parler is excited to take this step forward with her and continues to build out its product offering to support her professional evolution as one of the world’s leading icons.”
The company said in a statement:
“Mrs. Trump and Parler have found synergy in the shared desire to embrace Web3 technology.
“As part of the synergistic relationship, Mrs. Trump will share exclusive communications on Parler.
“2022 is a bright start for Parler.
“The company is doubling its competitive advantage by fostering civil debate through its digital public square, adding new high-profile influencers to its platform, and creating a more user-friendly experience.
“Additionally, the cornerstone of Parler’s relaunch highlights its move into Web3 as a first-mover amongst social media companies in this sphere.”
