Michael Flynn Files $50 Million Lawsuit Against U.S Government for Malicious Prosecution, Abuse of Power

President Donald Trumpโ€™s former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the U.S. federal government.

Flynn, a retired United States Army lieutenant general, is suing the government after he became a political target of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI.

He just filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government for malicious prosecution and abuse of power and is seeking $50 million in damages.

Flynn said on social media: โ€œAbsolutely gross abuse of power and usurping the entire justice system.

โ€œPeople donโ€™t trust the FBI because of this case.

โ€œThis is a timely, precise, and important filing for all Americans.

โ€œThis level of corruption and undermining of our rule of law cannot stand.

โ€œOn behalf of the entire Flynn family, we thank you @jbinnall law group and team for your exceptional work.

โ€œFor all those non-believers in the hate-filled mainstream media (and others who are filled w/ hate), find some light in your lives.

โ€œThe DOJ โ€ฆ admitted that they should never have brought this prosecution against General Flynn because the interview that formed the basis of the criminal information should never have happened and โ€ฆ it was not a proper basis for the felony charge.โ€

The lawsuit says:

โ€œThis lawsuit seeks accountability and damages against the United States for these wrongs committed against General Flynn through its agents and agencies.

โ€œSpecifically, General Flynn seeks relief herein for Defendantโ€™s agents and agenciesโ€™ violations of his constitutional and other legal rights in connection with this wrongful and malicious prosecution and gross abuse of process.

โ€œDuring this interview, FBI agents Strzok and Pientka were attempting to trap General Flynn in a misstatement or omission so that they could charge him with a false statement violation of 18 U.S.C. ยง 1001.

โ€œThis malicious intent continued throughout the FBIโ€™s investigation and the subsequent investigation and prosecution by the Special Counselโ€™s office.

โ€œThe motivation to have Flynn charged and removed as national security advisor was to prevent him from getting in the way of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

โ€œDefendantโ€™s agents were acutely aware that General Flynn [as former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency] was one of few people in the Trump White House with the authority and the intelligence background to uncover and expose the Crossfire Hurricane debacle.

โ€œAs a direct and proximate result of Defendantโ€™s actions, General Flynn suffered harm,โ€ the suit says.

โ€œHe was falsely branded as a traitor to his country, lost at least tens of millions of dollars of business opportunities and future lifetime earning potential, was maliciously prosecuted, and spent substantial monies in his own defense.โ€
