Former First Lady Michelle Obama went on CBS and trashed America for allowing citizens to have Second Amendment rights, slamming “access to firearms” as “not a good thing.”
During the interview with Obama, CBS host Gayle King complained about the recent shootings across the country.
King continued by asking Obama if there was anything that could be done to “reconcile gun violence in this country.”
“I hope and pray that, at some point, enough becomes enough,” Obama responded.
“We are the only developed country on the planet where its citizens can have unfettered access to firearms.
“That is not a good thing,” she declared.
“More of us have to feel strongly about it.
“In particular, our young people.
“This is where democracy comes in.
“Voting — all of this stuff is decided in the ballot box.
King also talked about presidential scandals.
“I mean you went eight years where there were really relatively no scandals to speak of, compared to what we’re dealing with even now,” King said before asking if she felt “enormous pressure” as the first black president and first lady in the White House.
“Absolutely,” Obama said.
“So yes, Barack knew that he couldn’t afford a scandal.
“I mean, he wore a tan suit and got criticized,” she said.
Unsurprisingly, she also took a swipe at President Donald Trump.
She said of having her official portrait unveiled during Biden’s term, not Trump’s:
“That’s tradition. You do your official portraits.
“The next president is supposed to invite you back to hang them.
“We were never invited back,” she said.
She also opened up about her marriage struggles.
“And a lot of young people quit on marriage over things that are just a part of the commitment,” Obama said.
“We’ve been married for 30 years.
“If I fell out with him for 10, and we had a great 20 years, I’d take those odds anytime.
“Control happens when you know how to make yourself happy, where you know how to create your own joy,” she said.
