A video has emerged showing former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson pummeling an airplane passenger who was harassing him during a flight.
Tyson was caught on film repeatedly punching the rowdy passenger who was sitting behind Tyson and would not stop bothering him.
The flight was scheduled to fly from San Francisco to Florida.
A witness said the passenger was apparently drunk and became overly excited upon discovering he was sitting behind Tyson.
The guy got a selfie with the champ but continued to harass and badger him until Tyson, the man who used to knock out professional boxers in 90 seconds, turned around and told the passenger to relax and leave him alone.
When that didn’t work he turned around and punched the guy a few times.
According to Complex: “The video comes less than a month after Tyson was filmed keeping his cool when a man challenged him to a fight and pulled out a gun.
‘That clip was taken at a comedy show and shows Tyson sitting still while the man appeared to get more and more animated, which prompted the host of the event to tell the man to back off.
“That’s when a gun was drawn and cocked, sending attendees into a brief panic.
“Tyson, however, sat there in silence as the man put the gun away.”
The New York Post reported:
“Video of the incident shows the passenger excitedly talking to Tyson from a row behind him.
“A witness told the website that Tyson, 55, asked the passenger to leave him alone after initially taking a selfie with his friend.
“The former heavyweight champ apparently reached his breaking point before leveling the man with a flurry of blows.
“The gossip site reported that a source close to the boxer said the passenger was ‘extremely intoxicated’ and ‘wouldn’t stop provoking’ Tyson.
TMZ reported the man went to the police which could be big trouble for Tyson as he was convicted and served a few years for raping a beauty pageant contestant.
According to TMZ:
“We’re told the man who was punched received medical attention and then went to the police over the incident.
“We’ve reached out to cops for comment, but so far, no word back yet.
“We’ve also reached out to JetBlue and Tyson’s camp for comment on the incident as well, but no word back yet there either.”
