Multiple Victims Reported in School Shooting in Nashville, Cops Engaged and Killed Shooter

At least three students are dead from gunshot wounds suffered at the Covenant School in Nashville today, according to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

All three of the students were pronounced dead after arrival at the hospital.

Police engaged the shooter on the scene. The shooter is dead.

Nashville Police said: “An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr. The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead. Student reunification with parents is at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2100 Woodmont Blvd.”

The Nashville fire department said. “We are responding to an active aggressor at 33 Burton Hills Blvd Covenant School.  We can confirm we have multiple patients.

“Parents coming to the school should go to 20 Burton Hills at this time. this is an active scene.

“A reunification area has been established at 2100 Woodmont Blvd (Woodmont Baptist Church) for parents to meet their children who attend The Covenant School at 33 Burton Hills Blvd.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said:

“At the request of District Attorney General Glenn Funk, TBI special agents and additional personnel are responding to the scene of this morning’s school shooting in Green Hills.

“As indicated by @MNPDNashville, there is no current threat to public safety.”

Three students were killed in the attack, according to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Police say officers engaged with and killed the shooter.

Covenant School is a private Christian institution for students up to 6th grade, according to its website.
