Nancy Mace Attacked on Capitol Grounds, ‘Pro-Trans’ Activist Arrested

Police have arrested a “pro-trans” activist for attacking Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on U.S. Capitol grounds on Tuesday night.

The alleged assault reportedly happened inside the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill on Tuesday evening and occurred around 6:00 p.m.

Officers from the House Division and agents with the Threat Assessment Section were able to swiftly locate the suspect, identified as James McIntyre, 33, of Illinois, according to Fox5DC.

Following an investigative interview, McIntyre was arrested and charged with assaulting a government official.

In a post on X, Nancy Mace characterized the man as a “pro-trans” activist.

“I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man.

“One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine.

“The Capitol police arrested the guy.

“Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO.”

She concluded by imploring people to “Hold the Line.”

Mace drew the ire of far-left activists for waging a successful campaign last month to block transgenders from using women’s bathrooms in the Capitol complex.

The move was a response to the election of Democrat transgender Congressman-elect Tim “Sarah” McBride (D-DE) to the House.

McBride is a male who claims to be a “transwoman” and expects to use female facilities.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced the policy on November 20:

“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.

“It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.

“Women deserve women’s only spaces.”

In a statement about the attack, Capitol Police said:

“Tonight, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) arrested a person who is accused of assaulting a U.S. Representative.

“Just before 6:00 p.m., the Member of Congress’s office reported an incident in the Rayburn House Office Building.

“House Division officers, and agents with the Threat Assessment Section, tracked down the suspect.

“After an investigative interview, officers arrested the suspect, 33-year-old James McIntyre of Illinois.

“McIntyre is facing a charge of Assaulting a Government Official (18 USC 111).

“The Rayburn House Office Building was open to the public at the time of the incident.

“McIntyre went through security screening prior to entering the Congressional buildings.”
