President Donald Trump blasted Netflix and called on the streaming giant to remove board member Susan Rice, warning the company to act immediately or “pay the consequences.”
The president’s remarks followed comments Rice made Thursday on the “Stay Tuned with Preet” podcast, hosted by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
During the interview, Rice, who served as National Security Advisor in the Obama administration, criticized corporations she said had yielded to Republican pressure.
“This is not going to be an instance of forgive and forget,” Rice said.
“The damage that these people are doing is too severe to the American people and our national interest.”
President Trump responded forcefully, targeting Rice’s continued role on Netflix’s board.
Netflix has not announced any change to Rice’s board position.
However, the company’s stock had plunged approximately 4% by Monday.

It remains unclear whether the market movement was directly tied to the political dispute.
Rice’s Comments on Corporate Conduct
During the podcast appearance, Rice discussed what she characterized as corporate retreats from diversity and governance initiatives under pressure from Republican lawmakers.
Rice told Bharara:
“If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back into power, are going to, you know, play by the old rules, and, you know, say, ‘Oh, never mind. We’ll forgive you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all, you know, the laws you’ve skirted.’
“I think they’ve got another thing coming,” Rice warned.
Rice also predicted an “accountability agenda” if Democrats regain power and suggested that upcoming midterm elections could reshape the political landscape.
Escalating Tensions Between White House and Corporate America
President Trump’s demand marks the latest flashpoint in his administration’s ongoing confrontations with major corporations over cultural and political issues.
Since returning to the White House, President Trump has signaled a willingness to challenge companies he believes engage in partisan activism or ideological alignment against his policy agenda.
His warning to Netflix reflects that broader posture.
Neither Netflix nor Rice has publicly responded to President Trump’s demand as of this writing.
What Comes Next
It is not yet clear what specific steps, if any, the administration might pursue in response to Netflix’s decision to retain Rice.
The dispute underscores the increasingly direct collision between political leadership and corporate governance in an era when board members’ public statements can quickly trigger national controversy.
For now, President Trump has placed Netflix on notice and signaled that corporate neutrality, in his view, is no longer optional when political stakes are high.
