New Orleans Residents File Recall Petition against Democrat Mayor LaToya Cantrell

Residents of New Orleans have reached their limit with the city’s Democrat Mayor LaToya Cantrell and have formally filed a recall petition.

The Louisiana Secretary of State’s office confirmed the recall petition against Cantrell was filed on August 26.

The petition was filed by Eileen Carter and Beldon “Noonie Man” Batiste.

The reason given for the move was, “Failure to put New Orleans first and execute the responsibilities of the position.”

A spokesman for the mayor’s office said: “The mayor is working 24 hours a day, seven days a week to solve the problems of the city.

“Whether it is public safety, sanitation, or development.

“This mayor cares about every person in the city and lifting the city.

“This is a world-class city, and we are going to keep on striving to make it the best possible.

“That’s what she’s going to continue to do.”

According to Breitbart:

The Democrat mayor is currently under scrutiny for numerous scandals and blunders while the city’s crime rate soars, according to Nola.com.

Among those blunders, Cantrell, on August 18, showed up unannounced to the sentencing of a juvenile convicted of armed robbery to show support for the offender’s family.

The mother of the victim was offended by the mayor seemingly showing favoritism in the proceedings, saying, “The mayor and judge gave us and my daughter the proverbial slap in the face.”

She defended the costly trip, saying, “I have a responsibility to grow our economy and culture.
