New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has warned that NYC is at a “breaking point” because of an “unprecedented surge” of migrants sent north by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Adams issued a statement complaining that his city is being overwhelmed by asylum seekers arriving from the “Southern Border.”
The news comes after Gov Abbott has been sending illegal border crossers to so-called “sanctuary cities,” including New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C.
“In the last few months, we have experienced an unprecedented surge of asylum seekers arriving from the southern border,” Adams said.
“In this new and unforeseen reality, where we expect thousands more to arrive every week going forward, the city’s system is nearing its breaking point.
“As a result, the city’s prior practices, which never contemplated the busing of thousands of people into New York City, must be reassessed.
“Since May, this administration, on its own, has safely and efficiently provided shelter, health care, education, and a host of other services to more than 11,000 people predominantly from Central and South America who are seeking a better life.
“While some may want to use these extraordinary circumstances as an opportunity to play an unproductive game of gotcha, we remain focused on supporting each of these individuals and families who need our city’s help.”

Abbott said:
“It is interesting that they all are concerned about a few dozen or a few 100 migrants coming to their town and we get that many per hour and in almost every community across the border.
“So we’re dealing with this all the time, and I’m just helping out our local communities who are located on the border.
“Sanctuary city mayors complain they are overwhelmed by a few dozen migrants arriving on buses from Texas.
“It’s a fraction of what Texas faces on a daily basis.
“We will continue bussing migrants until Biden secures the border,” he said.
As Slay News reported earlier, Democrats have responded with outrage after two planes filled with illegal border crossers arrived in the exclusive Martha’s Vineyard from Florida on Wednesday.
The migrants were sent to the Massachusetts island on chartered flights by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Martha’s Vineyard is home to some of America’s wealthiest elites, including former President and open borders advocate Barack Obama.
DeSantis has also threatened to send migrants to Democrat President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.
