NFL Players Take a Knee to Pray, Prayers Are Answered as Hamlin Released from Hospital

NFL players came together to kneel in prayer for Damar Hamlin this weekend as the Buffalo Bills player recovers from a cardiac arrest.

The Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars played for the AFC South championship inside TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville.

The winning team would make the playoff and the losing team would go home.

Before the game, the players came together to take a knee, not in protest as in years past, but to pray for Hamlin.

According to The Tennessean: “The two teams came together and took a knee at midfield for a prayer in honor of Hamlin, the Bills safety who is in critical condition in a Cincinnati hospital after suffering cardiac arrest during a game on Monday.”

During the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders, an announcer asked the fans to pray and cheer for Hamlin saying: “The entire NFL family has been praying for Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills.”

Many other players knelt to pray in support of Hamlin last weekend and the prayers were answered because Hamlin was released from the hospital today and is back home in Buffalo.

Dr. William Knight IV, a professor of emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine said:

“Mr. Hamlin has been released and returned to Buffalo.

“I traveled with him to the airport this morning with our UC Health air care and mobile care crew, including teammates who were with us on the field when Mr. Hamlin collapsed.

“I can confirm he is doing well and this is the beginning of the next stage of his recovery.”

Damar said:

“Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love in my heart.
