NYPD Warns Al Sharpton of ‘Civil Suit’ over ‘Insane’ Shakedown Attempt

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has issued a warning to Al Sharpton over his latest shakedown attempt.

Sharpton has weighed in on an incident in NYC where a woman was knocked to the ground by a police officer.

As Slay News previously reported, the woman, Tamani Crum, attacked police officers as they tried to arrest a murder suspect in Harlem.

Now Sharpton wants to file a civil suit against the cops on behalf of his new “victim” Crum.

Crum attacked Detective Kendo D. Kinsey and his colleagues while they were in the process of arresting 22-year-old Elvin James.

James was wanted in connection to an August 12 murder.

The NYPD said the man had a loaded firearm and illegal drugs on him at the time of the arrest.

When they tried to arrest him a number of people began to assault them and interfere with the arrest.

The cops did their best with the surging crowd until a young woman came up behind them and attacked one of them.

Officer Kinsey had enough and knocked her out cold.

A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media.

Now Sharpton wants to file a civil suit against the cops.

However, the Detectives’ Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo turned the tables on Sharpton and threaten him over his “insane comments.”

“Criminals in NY have grown accustomed to there being no consequences for their dangerous, illegal actions — but when you assault a New York City Detective in order to interfere with an arrest of a man armed with a gun there are repercussions.

“As the DEA explores a possible civil suit on behalf of our dedicated member against the woman who attacked him, we urge politicians to open their eyes and see the public safety disaster they’ve created.

“As for Al Sharpton’s insane comments, he should be worried about the thousands of actual crime victims in this city and not the limelight and lining of his pockets.

“Sharpton said they’re going to be filing a civil suit.

“We’re going to be looking to file a civil suit as well, against the woman.

“This individual, James, was in possession of a loaded, illegal firearm, and her interference in that arrest could have cost the police officers as well as other innocent people their lives because they had to divert their attention away from the armed suspect to her.

“When you assault a New York City Detective in order to interfere with an arrest of a man armed with a gun there are repercussions,” he said.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said: “It’s a lot of madness going on.

“This is not just something that is a theatrical performance.

“This is real danger,” he said.

“This person was wanted for murder.

“This person had a loaded gun.”
