Former White House physician turned congressman, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), has been raising the alarm about Democrat President Joe Biden’s fitness for some time now.
Ahead of the 2020 election, Jackson was publicly expressing his concerns over the status of Biden’s physical and mental health.
Now, as Biden turns 81 and gears up for a re-election bid, Jackson is renewing his warnings about Biden.
Jackson is concerned that the incumbent president is simply not up to the task of effectively serving out the remainder of his term, much less campaigning for a second term in office.
In a Monday morning appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Jackson told co-host Steve Doocy:
“I’ve been saying for quite some time now, when he was candidate Joe Biden, that I didn’t think that he had the cognitive ability to do the job.”
Jackson went on to suggest that such concerns harbored by himself and many other Americans were legitimate, particularly in light of how Biden’s health has apparently “degenerated” over the past couple of years.
“He’s got these people that surround him that are inappropriately encouraging him to continue to run because it builds up who they are and what they do,” Jackson said.
“But our border, our wars overseas, our economy, you know, it’s just a disaster right now.
“And he just can’t do the job,” Jackon warned.
“And it’s just on display every day that he’s not capable of doing this job anymore.”
The former doctor-turned-congressman surmised that Biden “can’t do this at all,” in terms of both governing the country and running for another term.
He jokingly suggested that Biden’s aides spare the nation by falsely convincing the cognitively ailing president that he had already won re-election and was nearing the end of his second term.
In a prior interview with Fox News, Jackson had said of Biden:
“I think his lack of physical ability and his physical decline is now starting to highlight the cognitive decline that we’ve been watching for so long now.
“It’s a package that just doesn’t sell around the world, and it’s becoming a national security issue for us.
“We have to do something about it.”
Rep. Jackson most certainly isn’t alone in feeling concerned over Biden’s physical and mental health and capabilities.
As The Hill reported in late September, multiple polls show around three-quarters of the American people had similar worries about the elderly incumbent president.
A survey conducted by NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ found that a combined 74.31% of registered voters were either “very concerned,” 52.21%, or “somewhat concerned,” 22.1%, that Biden’s cognitive health would impact his ability to serve effectively as president for another four years.
Just a few weeks earlier in September, a CNN/SSRS poll revealed that 73% of American adults were “seriously concerned” that Biden’s advanced age had and would negatively impact his “current level of physical and mental competence.”
That figure included a 56% majority of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents.
That general public perception of Biden’s physical and mental health contrasts sharply with the public’s far less expressed concerns about President Donald Trump’s age and physical and mental health.
Trump’s health, meanwhile, was just declared to be “excellent” by his personal physician, according to Axios.
In a letter shared by Trump on Monday, Dr. Bruce Aronwald asserted that “Trump’s overall health is excellent” in that his physical capabilities were “within the normal range” while his cognitive capabilities were “exceptional.”
The doctor further revealed that lab tests were “within normal limits” and were even improved from prior exams due to Trump’s dieting and “daily physical activity” that contributed to his weight loss.
Aronwald also highlighted that Trump’s cardiovascular health was normal and cancer screenings had all been negative.
He concluded that, in his professional opinion, “Trump is currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy lifestyle for years to come.”
