Polling Shows Trump Crushing Nikki Haley in Her Home State of South Carolina

President Donald Trump is crushing his GOP “challenger” Nikki Haley in her home state, according to the results of a poll conducted on Monday.

The South Carolina roots of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley are irrelevant to the vast majority of the state’s potential Republican primary voters when they are evaluating whether or not to support their former governor in the nomination process that will take place the following week.

According to a study conducted by CBS News and YouGov, only twenty percent of South Carolinians believe that the fact that Haley is from the state makes them more inclined to vote for her, as The Daily Caller reported.

In contrast, five percent of respondents indicated the opposite, and seventy-five percent said it does not make a difference.

In the same study, it was discovered that 89 percent of the potential voters for the Republican primary were more concerned about national concerns than they were about local issues before the race on February 24.

During the poll, President Trump enjoyed a 35-point advantage against Haley in her native state of South Carolina, where she had previously won two elections for the position of governor.

The overwhelming majority of supporters of both Trump and Haley have expressed that they have “firmly decided” on their candidate.

According to the findings of the survey, 34 percent of people who are likely to vote for Trump believe that Haley’s record as the executive of the state would be a potential cause to consider supporting her.

Additionally, only five percent of respondents indicated that the preference for a female president could be a consideration in making such a decision.

“Nikki Haley knows South Carolina, she won it twice. Donald Trump, on the other hand, drops into the state for the first time after 77 days, insults military families, and leaves,” AnnMarie Graham-Barnes, spokesperson for the Haley campaign, told the Daily Caller in a statement.

“70 percent of Americans don’t want a Trump-Biden rematch, and Donald Trump is proving their point every time he goes off the teleprompter.”

RealClearPolitics’ average for a South Carolina primary, which is based on polls completed between January 2 and February 4, says that Trump is leading Haley by a margin of sixty percent to thirty-nine point three percent.

A significant number of the state’s most prominent Republicans, like Governor Henry McMaster, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), have expressed their support for Trump.

In addition, Republican Reps. Nancy Mace, Russell Fry, Jeff Duncan, Joe Wilson, and William Timmons, all of South Carolina, have shown support for Trump.

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), however, is supporting Haley.

From February 5 through February 10, a total of 1,004 potential Republican primary voters in South Carolina participated in the survey conducted by CBS News and YouGov.

The margin of error for this survey was 4.4%.
