A prominent pro-vaccine doctor has died after suffering a sudden stroke, his colleagues have announced.
Pulmonologist Dr. José Fusillo reportedly died on Christmas Eve after being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
He suffered an unexpected stroke last Wednesday while preparing for work.
The doctor was rushed to hospital and received emergency surgery.
However, he died just over a week later.
Fusillo rose to prominence in his native Paraguay during the Covid pandemic due to his vocal advocation of mRNA “vaccines.”
Pulmonologist Silvio Benítez recalled the committed work of his colleague Fusillo during the pandemic.
Benítez said that, in the last weeks before his death, he was fighting to defend vaccines from so-called “disinformation.”
He revealed that Fusillo died when he suffered a cardiac arrest while being treated for a stroke in the ICU.
During an appearance on the TV show “Arriba hoy” on the GEN channel, Benítez said:
“We are saddened by the news and we are saying goodbye to him at Ineram in our home, where we were trained and grew as professionals.
“And until his heart stopped, we were there with him, saying goodbye to our dear brother José Fusillo.”
He highlighted his role as a specialist and as head of the contingency ward set up at the National Institute of Respiratory and Environmental Diseases (Ineram).
“He was in charge of the wards, covering everything necessary for our Covid patients at that time,” Benítez said.
“And I remember that, when the pandemic started, there was total ignorance and fear that we had.”
The doctor commented that, together with Dr. Fusillo, they believed that Covid “vaccines” would save patients.
“At the beginning, almost everyone died, and it was a daily struggle, a frustration,” he said.
During the pandemic, doctors also faced accusations of stealing medicines that were banned for treatments against Covid.
“We were always firm in our demands,” he said.
“We were demanding because we were very frustrated, we couldn’t save our patients.
“But we managed to overcome that.”
Dr. Benítez said that a week ago there was another protest against the closure of the academic department of Ineram, which was also under the direction of Dr. Fusillo.
“So, he was demanding that,” he pointed out.
“And in one part of his speech he said that even if senators and deputies earn between 38 and 40 million, and we do not reach that salary, they will never reach what we can reach: seeing the relatives and patients who thank us.”
In recent months, Fusillo had become outraged that “the anti-vaccine movement has spread,” according to an April interview.
“Disinformation has overcome us,” he lamented.
“Many people no longer want to vaccinate,” he complained.
Fusillo argued that authorities should crack down on “disinformation” and “insist that people consume better quality information.”
