MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow has admitted that “everybody” at the network was “out of their seats” to cheer and applaud while radical Democrat vice presidential candidate Tim Walz gave his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this week.
Maddow revealed that all of her fellow MSNBC hosts and staff had gathered to watch the stolen valor villain’s speech on Wednesday night.
“I had no idea it was going to be like that,” Maddow said after Walz formally accepted his party’s nomination for vice president.
“The room in here, in terms of our little crowd at MSNBC mothership, everybody got out of their seats and started stamping and clapping.”
Walz was joined onstage by former football players from Mankato West High School, where he once coached.
They appeared on stage Wednesday night at the DNC to support Walz in a moment that was being widely shared online.
After Walz finished his speech, Maddow revealed that the moment was a moment of immense celebration for her and everybody else at MSNBC.
Maddow asked MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff what the energy in the DNC event hall was like.
“I was probably six feet away from half the football team on this side of the stage,” Soboroff giddily recalled.
“The wattage of the smiles on their faces, it just screamed, ‘I cannot believe I am standing on this stage right now, in front of the … United States of America,” he said.
“It was a really incredible thing to experience.”
As she continued to hype the event, Maddow told MSNBC host Chris Hayes:
“There is nothing more real, Chris Hayes than still having your uniform shirt, your jersey from when you won the state championship.”
“I love that moment,” Hayes responded.
Imagining the players’ excitement when they were asked by the DNC to appear alongside their old coach, Hayes added:
“You get the call and you’re like, ‘yes!'”

Meanwhile, the backlash over Tim Walz’s stolen valor is continuing to intensify.
As Slay News reported earlier, dozens of military veterans serving in Congress have signed a letter blasting radical Democrat vice presidential candidate Walz over his false claims about his military service.
The letter was distributed on Thursday by President Donald Trump’s campaign.
The letter condemning Walz has emerged as the Democrat Minnesota governor has sought to dodge questions about the timing of his retirement from military service.
In an announcement about the letter, the Trump campaign slammed Walz as “Freakish Timothy.”
