Republican Rep. Anna Pauline Luna (R-FL) has revealed that lawmakers on Capitol Hill are being told that President Joe Biden is going to be replaced as the Democrats’ presidential nominee.
In addition, Luna revealed that “we’re hearing” Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris is planning to run for governor of California due to the shift in the presidential ticket.
In an interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News, Luna revealed that “weโre hearing on Capitol Hill” that Biden will be replaced.
“A lot of people realize that Joe Biden is not going to be the nominee, which is from what we’re hearing on Capitol Hill, Jesse, you know, Representative Kylie had reported that Kamala Harris is actually eyeing a run for California governor because of that,” Luna told Watters.
She added, “It appears that our colleagues are trying to put guardrails on a 2024 presidential elections with President Trump, and also what you’re seeing is according to our polling, you know Jesse, as well as I do, that they’ve been trying to really paint Republicans as anti-woman and they’re trying to push an abortion crisis right now with the elections and I don’t really think that’s the case.”
Watters asked again to confirm, saying โSo you are hearing also in D.C. that Joe Biden isnโt going to be the Democrat nominee?โ
โCorrect,โ said Luna.
โI think that they know that theyโre losing,” she added.
“Itโs very evident at this point.โ

LUNA: That, you know, a lot of people realize that Joe Bidenโs likely not going to be the nominee, which is from what weโre hearing on Capitol Hill, Jesse. You know, Representative Kiley had reported that Kamala Harris actually eyeing a run for California governor because of it.
WATTERS: Right. Thatโs the backup plan. So you are hearing also in DC that Joe Biden isnโt going to be the Democrat nominee?
LUNA: Correct. It appears that our colleagues are trying to put guardrails on a 2024 presidential election with President Trump. And also what youโre seeing is, according to our polling, you know, Jesse, as well as I do, that theyโve been trying to really paint Republicans as anti-woman, and theyโre trying to push an abortion, crisis right now with the election. And I donโt think that thatโs the case. A lot of the American people know that really. This is a state rights decision. And so I think that they know that theyโre losing. Itโs very evident at this point.
WATTERS: All right. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, the straight truth.
For several months, rumors have been swirling that Democrats plan to replace Biden on the 2024 ticket.
Key names have been suggested, including Michelle Obama and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
While Obama has shot down the rumors, Newsom has been accused of running a shadow campaign.
However, Newsom would not be able to replace Biden on the ticket if Harris remains due to both Democrats being from the same state of California.
Yet, if what Luna says is accurate, Harris’s plan to run for California governor could indicate that Democrats are lining Newsom up to replace Biden after all.
Recent polling data fromย FiveThirtyEight, a poll analysis website, shows President Donald Trump has taken a slight lead over Biden.
In the June 10-12 polling window, Trump holds a marginal lead with 43% compared to Biden’s 42%.
Biden and Trump are set to face off in the first U.S. presidential debate on June 27.
Scheduled to take place in Atlanta, the 90-minute debate will be moderated by CNNโs Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
The rules for debate include muted microphones except when it is a candidateโs turn to speak.
Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will not participate in this debate.
The second debate is scheduled for September 10 on ABC.
