House Republicans have responded to growing concerns about the World Economic Forum (WEF) by moving to defund Klaus Schwab’s unelected globalist organization.
Several GOP House lawmakers are pushing a measure that seeks to ensure no American taxpayer funds are ever sent to the WEF.
The legislation, named the Defund Davos Act, is being led by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA).
The briefly-worded bill declares:
“No funds available to the Department of State, the United States Agency for International Development, or any other department or agency may be used to provide funding for the World Economic Forum.”
Perry has been joined by GOP Reps. Tom Tiffany (R-WI), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Andy Ogles (R-TN), and Matt Rosendale (R-MT) in introducing the proposal, according to a press release.
Unsurprisingly, no Democrats are supporting the measure.
According to the press release, Perry said:
“The World Economic Forum doesn’t deserve one cent of American funding, and it’s past time we defund Davos.”
Rep. Tiffany added in a statement that the WEF is threatening the American “way of life.”
Tiffany said in the press release statement:
“The Defund Davos Act would ensure that U.S. tax dollars are not funding the World Economic Forum and their reset on our way of life.
“I thank Congressman Perry for leading this important effort.”
During the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, this week, Argentinian President Javier Milei delivered a speech in which he discussed capitalism, as well as the miserable failures of socialism.
“The state is not the solution, the state is the problem itself,” he said.
Elsewhere during the summit, a rare moment unfolded as WEF elites were put on blast by a U.S. patriot, as Slay News reported.
During an appearance on a panel at the WEF meeting, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts took a sledgehammer to the globalist agenda.
Roberts said that members of the next conservative presidential administration should reject all of the ideas ever proposed at the WEF.
He blasted the WEF for insisting that globalist elites are “protecting democracy,” arguing that they are, in fact, “part of the problem.”
“The very reason I’m here at Davos is to explain to many people in this room and who are watching, with all due respect – nothing personal – that you are part of the problem,” he told the crowd of globalists.
“Political elites tell the average people … that the reality is ‘x,’ when in fact, the reality is ‘y.’”
A moderator asked Roberts what he thought about the WEF standing up for “liberal democracy.”
Roberts fired back by asserting that “It’s laughable that you or anyone would describe Davos as ‘protecting liberal democracy.’”
He continued:
“Elites tell us that open borders and even illegal immigration are okay.
“The average person tells us in the United States that both rob them of the American way of life.
“Elites also tell us public safety isn’t a problem in big American cities.
“Just travel to New York or Washington or Dallas, Texas.
“The average person will tell you the lack of public safety damages not only the American way of life but their life.”
“Elites tell us we have this existential crisis with so-called ‘Climate Change,’” he added.
“The solutions, the average person knows, cost more human lives – especially in Europe during the time that you need heating – than do the problems themselves.”
Next, Roberts criticized the globalist group for cozying up to China’s Communist regime when it is “the number one adversary to free people on planet Earth.”
When asked if he thinks President Trump will seek “retribution” against his political opponents, Roberts said it was “laughable” to use the word “dictatorship” when discussing the 45th president.
“I think that’s absurd,” he declared.
Near the end of his time speaking, Roberts told the forum:
“I will be candid and say that the agenda that every single member of the [next] administration needs to have is to compile a list of everything that’s ever been proposed at the World Economic Forum and object to all of them wholesale.”
