Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has fired back at far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) today after the radical pro-lockdown lawmaker has spent the weekend partying in his free state.
After she was caught mask-free in Florida, the New York congresswoman falsley claimed Gov. DeSantis was “inexplicably missing.”
Ocasio-Cortez took the cheap shot at the governor who was taking his wife to get her cancer treatments.
AOC has faced a backlash for vacationing in Miami fleeing the lockdowns and government overreach in New York and Washington DC.
DeSantis said: “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man.
“Let me tell you. I mean Congresspeople, Mayors, Governors.
“It’s interesting though the reception that some of these folks get in Florida because a lot of Floridians are saying wait a minute, you’re bashing us because we aren’t doing your draconian policies yet we are the first place you flee to to be able to enjoy life.”
AOC said: “Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks?
“If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello.
“His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks.
“In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing.
“Folks are quite receptive here.
“I’d also be happy to share some notes from @GovKathyHochul’s work in NY since he seems to be in need of tips!”

Democratic Mayor Jerry Demings of Orange County in Florida also went after DeSantis saying:
“Our residents, all Florida residents should be outraged, and they should ask the question, ‘Now, where’s our state? Where’s our governor?
“Where is Ron DeSantis now?
“When was the last time you saw the governor do a press briefing regarding COVID-19?”
Soon after AOC went after Ron, a DeSantis spokesperson told Fox News the Governor was with his wife getting cancer treatment. Fox reported:
“Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked, Fox News has learned.
“A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of “missing.”
