DeSantis Fires Back at Critics: ‘Biden Would Fly People in the Middle of the Night, Dump Them All across This Country’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis fired back at his critics after he sent two planes full of migrants to the wealthy enclave of Martha’s Vineyard.

Charlie Crist, his opponent in November, said “When you are this inhumane, in how you treat human beings, you’re not qualified to be governor of anything. And it’s just, it’s amazing to me what he’s willing to do for sheer political gain. Whoopi Goldberg called DeSantis ‘nasty’ and ‘boneheaded.’

Enter DeSantis who said: “Biden would fly people in the middle of the night, dump them all across this country, there was no warning on any of this. They’re doing it and they’re farming people out all around.

“They are also doing things like — so, you know, we’ve had people right on the border helping working ways, they were dumped in San Antonio and these people have, you know, they’re basically just there, and a lot of them end up migrating to different parts.

“But it’s harder for us to stop a onesie-twosie coming into Florida because I don’t know, if you’re just driving a normal car and you have one or two people in it who were illegal.

“You can’t determine that on the front end.

“You can do if there’s large movement or caravans or buses, but we haven’t had that, partially because Governor Abbott is bussing to New York City and D.C.

“We take what’s happening at the southern border very seriously, unlike some, unlike the president of the United States who has refused to lift a finger to secure that border,” DeSantis said. “We are not a sanctuary state. It’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction, and, yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures.”

DeSantis communications director, Taryn Fenske, told Fox News earlier:

“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.

“States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies.

“As you may know, in this past legislative session the Florida Legislature appropriated $12 million to implement a program to facilitate the transport of illegal immigrants from this state consistent with federal law,” she said.
