DeSantis Fires Back at Trevor Noah: ‘That Is a Lie’ by ‘That Cabal of People in D.C.’

Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has slammed Hollywood comedian Trevor Noah for attacking his state during this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner.

DeSantis fired back at Noah after he took a few swipes at Florida’s battle with Disney.

“So I would never attend that,” DeSantis said.

“I have no interest in that. I did not watch it.

“I don’t care what they do.

“But for them to advertise me when that invitation was rejected by my office. That is a lie.

“And so here they are saying how important they are, that they are somehow these paragons of truth and yet there they are lying about something that is readily verifiable.

“So the idea that I was there is false.

“The idea that I would have ever gone is false.

“It just shows you why that cabal of people in D.C., New York are so reviled by so many Americans.

“I think it’s a reputation that’s well deserved.”

President Joe Biden is going to wish he listened to DeSantis because he was caught on camera laughing about inflation that is crippling the average American.

Noah also took shots at Megan McCain, Peter Doocy, Chris Cuomo, Hunter Biden, and the media industry as a whole.

Noah said: “Some people think that this dinner shows that the media is too cozy with politicians, but what those people don’t understand is that you guys have integrity.

“You would never allow personal connections to affect your ability to be good journalists — isn’t that right Chris Cuomo.

“Where is Chris Cuomo, by the way, is he here?

“You know, sir, can I just say, I think everyone will agree it’s nice to once again have a president who’s not afraid to come to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and hear jokes about himself?

“I’ll be honest. I’ll be honest.

“If you didn’t come I totally would’ve understood.

“Because these people have been so hard on you, which I don’t get. I really don’t.

“You know, I think ever since you’ve come into office, things are really looking up. Gas is up. Rent is up. Food is up. Everything.

“And as you all know, President Biden’s lack of a filter does get him into hot water sometimes.

“You know, last month he caused a huge international incident, saying that Vladimir Putin should be removed from power.

“It was very, very upsetting to Russia.

“Yeah, until someone explained to them that none of the stuff Biden wants actually gets done.

“If you ever begin to doubt how meaningful it is, look no for than what is happening in Ukraine. Look at what’s happening.

“There journalists are risking and even losing their lives to show the world what is really happening.

“You realize how amazing it is.

“In America, you have the right to seek the truth and speak the truth, even if it makes people in power uncomfortable.

“Even if it makes your viewers or your readers uncomfortable.

“To understand how amazing that is?

“I stood here tonight and made fun of the President Of The United States.

“I’m going to be fine. I’m going to be fine, right?

“Like, do you really understand what a blessing it is? Maybe it’s happened for so long that it has slipped your mind.

“It is a blessing. Here, ask yourself this question.

“Honestly, ask yourself this question:

“If Russian journalists, who are losing their livelihoods, as you were talking about, Steve, and their freedom for daring to report and with their own government is doing — if they had the freedom to write any words, to show any stories, to ask any questions — if they had, basically, what you have, would they be using in the same way that you do?

“Ask yourself that question every day,” he said.

“You have one of the most important roles in the world.

“Thank you so much for having me.”
