Sarah Sanders Sets Gavin Newsom Straight: ‘Every Single Town I Go to in Arkansas, I Meet Someone Who Has Moved from California’

Republican Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders set Gavin Newsom straight after California’s Democrat governor attacked her state.

Newsom blasted Arkansas’s crime rates while taking a swipe at the state’s new governor.

“While Sanders touts public safety, here is what she skips over: Arkansas has one of the highest murder rates in the nation,” Newsom said.

Sanders fired back on social media saying, “No one wants Gavin Newsom’s California, all those fleeing his failed state are welcome in Arkansas – the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

She later appeared on Fox News to set Newsom straight.

Sean Hannity said: “By comparison, when you look at Gavin Newsom’s time in public office, his time as San Francisco mayor, lieutenant governor, now governor, Newsom has spent nearly 7,000 days driving California straight into the ground.

“Crime and homelessness are now through the roof.

“The drug problem in California is out of control.

“Reports of school children being forced to walk through open-air drug dens.

“California ranked dead last again in the U-haul index.”

Sanders said: “Let’s not forget, he literally had to run ads begging people to stay in California not that long ago.

“And in every single town I go to in Arkansas, I meet someone who has moved from California.

“My message to them is we’re glad you’re here but don’t forget why you left California.

“We are proud of our state and our gates are open for people to come.”

Democrat Arkansas state Rep. Andrew Collins also put Newsom in his place, saying:

“She’s been governor a month.

“There are drivers of crime like poverty, lack of education, and lack of opportunity that Arkansas needs to fix in order to reduce violent crime.

“Don’t trash my state.”
