Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) set “woke” USWNT star Megan Rapinoe straight over her stance on trans athlete participation in women’s sports.
The former Auburn football coach called out Rapinoe for being one of the 40 professional and Olympic athletes who co-signed a letter to House lawmakers in opposition to the Protection of Girls and Women in Sports Act.
The legislation seeks to block men from competing in women’s sports events.
Tuberville said: “The problem is she’s voicing now her opinion that, ‘Hey, trans boys should be able to compete against women.’
“Well, if that would have happened during her career, she’d have been working at Safeway or Piggly Wiggly.
“She’d never gotten on the field, but now that she’s retired, ‘Yeah, I’m all for this.’
“And that’s the biggest bunch of crap I’ve ever heard.
“They stand up supposedly for all this activist stuff, but they don’t stand up for what’s right in this country.
“The main point about this is it’s not fair.
“It’s not fair to girls to know that they’re going to be playing for second or third.”
Megan Rapinoe said earlier:
“Politicians in DC are claiming to ‘protect women’s sports’ by pushing a trans & intersex sports ban.
“Call your Congressional rep today to say women’s sports need protection from unequal pay, sexual abuse & lack of resources, NOT from trans kids.”
Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines agreed with Tuberville and slammed Rapinoe:
“It’s worth noting that 1) you’re done with your athletic career and 2) because you aren’t sexually attracted to men, it’s unlikely you will ever have a daughter to defend.
“To me, this looks like a classic case of virtue signaling because you have nothing to personally lose.
“I can respect opinions that differ from my own and everyone is entitled to think/speak independently.
“But I can’t help but think Megan Rapinoe would genuinely shiv any male who tried to take her spot on the US Women’s National Team.”

Rapinoe, 37, has not retired from playing professional soccer. In January, she re-signed with OL Reign to return for the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League.
