American service members are reportedly re-enlisting in the military because of who President Donald Trump nominated to lead the U.S. Department of Defense.
As Slay News reported, Trump picked Pete Hegseth to be the Pentagon chief in his next administration.
The choice has sparked a new wave of respect for America’s military, according to reports.
Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) revealed that he has heard of stories of service members who have decided to re-enlist because Hegseth will be the next Secretary of Defense.
Hagerty made the remarks during a Sunday interview on ABC News’s “This Week” with Jonathan Karl.
The senator was discussing the old misconduct allegations that Hegseth, a U.S. Army veteran and former Fox News personality, has faced since he was nominated.
“Pete is a very talented individual,” Hagerty said.
“I talked with him earlier this week.
“He told me about how many people had written to him and said, look, I was thinking about getting out.
“You know we have a huge recruitment problem, a huge retention problem in the military.
“I was thinking about getting out, but now that you’ve come to lead us, Pete, I’m going to stay in.”
“That’s the type of inspirational leader we need to see,” he continued.
“Don’t let these allegations distract us.
“What we need is real, significant change.
“The Pentagon has been more focused on pronouns than they have lethality the past four years.
“We need to get back to business, and I think Pete is just the person to do it.”

As Slay News reported, Hegseth revealed last week that he has been “extorted” for money
Hegseth reportedly had a consensual sexual encounter with a married woman who accused him of rape.
The claims are an attempt to get money out of him, Hegseth’s lawyer said.
A memo that was sent to Trump’s team said the woman claims to have a “hazy memory” of allegedly being raped after meeting Hegseth at a hotel in California.
Hegseth gave a talk at the hotel in 2017, the Washington Post reported.
The police in Monterey, California have confirmed that they investigated the alleged incident at the time.
However, police confirmed that they brought no charges after discovering evidence that conflicted with the “rape” claim.
Police investigators found that contemporaneous video evidence revealed that the woman was “the aggressor.”
According to the police, the video revealed that Hegseth was “visibly intoxicated” as the woman led him by the arm to his hotel room.
“It wasn’t reported until days later until there was pressure from her husband,” Hegseth’s lawyer Timothy Parlatore added.
“It was fully investigated by police and video surveillance as well as multiple eyewitness statements show that she was the aggressor.”
