Jacoby Jones, who achieved the longest touchdown play in Super Bowl history, has died, according to his family.
The NFL star was just 40 years old when he passed away.
Jones’s family said he died at his home in New Orleans.
However, no cause of death was given.
The wide receiver reached his peak in the 2012 playoffs with the Baltimore Ravens.
Jones is famous for his plays in the 2012 postseason, including the “Mile High Miracle.”
With just 31 seconds left in regulation time, Jones caught a 70-yard touchdown pass that tied the AFC Divisional playoff game.
The Ravens went on to beat the Denver Broncos in overtime.
The Ravens went on to win Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers, with Jones scoring two touchdowns.
Jones received a 56-yard touchdown pass and later returned the second-half kickoff for a 108-yard touchdown.
It remains the longest play in Super Bowl history.
The Ravens beat the 49ers 34-31.
Besides the Ravens, Jones played with the Houston Texans, the San Diego Chargers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“We are completely heartbroken to learn about the passing of Jacoby Jones,” the Ravens said in a statement.
“Jacoby had the unique ability to connect with everyone he encountered.
“His charisma, joy, and love created a one-of-a-kind presence that could light up any room or brighten any dark day.”
Former Ravens Teammate Ray Lewis paid tribute to Jones on X.

J.J. Watt, who played with Jones on the Texans, said:
“Jacoby was one of the most fun-loving teammates and people I’ve ever been around.
“Always dancing and laughing, with a permanent smile on his face.
“Gone far, far too soon. R.I.P Jacoby Jones.”
Jones also appeared on the TV show “Dancing With The Stars.”
His dance partner Karina Smirnoff said she was “so heartbroken and shocked” by Jones’s death.
“Coby was one of the funniest, coolest, kindest people I’ve met,” she said.
“He was always in a great mood.
“Loved his momma and family, football, and dancing.”
