Supermodel Georgina Cooper Dies Suddenly at 46

British supermodel Georgina Cooper has tragically died suddenly, according to reports.

The fashion icon of the “Cool Britania” era was just 46 years old when she passed away unexpectedly.

Cooper, a catwalk star dubbed the “original gap-toothed girl” due to her distinctive smile, died during a vacation in Greece,

The model, who graced the covers of top fashion magazines such as Vogue and The Face, died on a Greek island just months after she married, The Daily Mail reported.

It is understood Cooper, a friend of Kate Moss, was staying in Kos at the Marianna Hotel with her husband when she was suddenly taken ill and rushed to hospital on October 21.

Tributes have flooded in for the model from catwalk stars such as Jade Parfitt and Erin O’Connor.

Fellow British model and TV host Parfitt shared the news with her Instagram followers.

Parfitt shared several photos of Cooper including photoshoots with ID and The Face magazines.

She wrote: “Goodbye beautiful girl.

“Devastated to share the news of George’s passing.

“One of the funniest and naughtiest, never mind most beautiful friends, we all wanted to hang out with George backstage.

“Sending so much love to her son, family.

“And friends. Gone too soon.”

Connor described “Gorgeous George” as a “Phenomenal woman, wife, daughter, mum, and friend”.

She wrote: “You were an incredibly kind and funny human being, Georgina.

“I/we all admired and loved you so much for the warmth, generosity, and gentle mischief you brought to the world.

“Many years have passed since we (our little 90’s Britannia pack) hung out together during the mad carousel era known as ‘show season’ – but, you ALWAYS stuck out to me for keeping it real and being proud of who you were.”

She added that Cooper would never be forgotten.

Connor described how Cooper was “full of spirit and endless, inspiring humility.”

Her former agent, Dean Goodman told the Daily Mail that Cooper loved Greece and she had recently explained she was returning there with her new husband.

Cooper suddenly “fell ill” on 21 October and she was rushed to the island’s main hospital.

However, her condition was determined to be so severe that she needed to be flown by air ambulance to a better-equipped hospital on the Greek island of Crete.

After five days of medical teams battling to save her, the model tragically passed away.

Her body was returned to the UK this week.

No cause of death has been revealed and any other details regarding the circumstances of her sudden passing have been withheld.

Cooper rose to stardom after she had been talent-spotted by a modeling agency at the age of 13.

She later appeared in a Bon Jovi music video when she was 15.

She walked the catwalk for British fashion designer Julien MacDonald in 2000 and was reportedly a close friend to fashion icon Kate Moss.

The model retired from the runway after becoming a mother and focused instead on raising her son, Sonny.

In a 2018 interview, she said:

“After I had my son I just couldn’t bear to leave him alone and I wanted to be there for him.

“I tried to continue modeling but it broke my heart when I had to leave him for work.

“I focused on modeling assignments in London but my life was at a crossroads and I decided that Sonny came first.”
