Fast food chain Taco Bell has announced it has taken drastic measures to tackle soaring crime in Oakland, California.
The restaurant company is closing all of its dining rooms in Oakland and will no longer accept cash payments.
Due to rampant crime, Taco Bell says it will only offer 100 percent cashless drive-thru service in the Democrat-led city.
This is not an isolated issue in Oakland, however.
Other companies have been forced to permanently close their doors in Oakland due to the crime.
Just last month, the only Denny’s restaurant in the city was shuttered after 50 years in business.

The news comes as Oakland’s “woke” soft-on-crime leaders continue to fail to maintain law and order.
The Taco Bell locations in Oakland were forced to make the changes amid a series of robberies and an unrelenting crime surge, according to The Daily Mail.
Taco Bell says its restaurants in Oakland have been subjected to a series of robberies.
Four of the five Taco Bell locations across the Bay Area city now have large signs hanging from their windows.
The signs advise customers: “DINING ROOM CLOSED.”
The restaurants have now been restricted to drive-thru service only at all locations in the city.
All five locations have also banned cash payments in an effort to curb robberies.
It’s a sad new reality for many law-abiding customers and families hoping to sit down for a peaceful meal.
“This is annoying,” Melissa Gilgen, 45, told The Mail on a rainy Tuesday after shouting her order into an intercom.
Gilgen said wanted to take her daughter and five-year-old granddaughter to eat at Taco Bell but they were refused entry.
“We had wanted to go inside so we could eat together,” Gilgen added.
“Now we’re forced to get drive-thru because the next Taco Bell is like seven miles away.”
WATCH:
The news triggered a backlash from customers on social media.
As many pointed out in posts on X, the restaurants no longer cater to people without vehicles or those who want to pay with cash.
Taco Bell corporate policy forbids pedestrians in the drive-thru lane.
So basically if you can’t afford a car or a motorcycle, you can’t afford Taco Bell.
