Ted Cruz Shuts Down Leftist Reporter: ‘The American People See the Hypocrisy’

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) shut down a leftist reporter by emphasizing the blatant political bias coming from the Washington D.C. press corps.

Cruz blasted the press for its one-sided reporting on Democrat President Joe Biden’s White House.

The Texas senator becasme frustrated when a reporter asked why the GOP lawmakers speaking were not wearing masks.

Cruz slammed his fists on a podium and asked the reporter why doesn’t he ask the same of Biden or White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

“I think there’s been wild hypocrisy from the Biden administration when it comes to COVID policies on mask mandates where Joe Biden rightly said we shouldn’t have mandates, on vaccine mandates where Joe Biden said we shouldn’t have vaccine mandates,” Sen. Cruz said.

“As far as I know, everyone here has been vaccinated, double vaccinated, been boosted at some point.”

“And by the way, on the question of hypocrisy, you just asked, you people at the podium are speaking without masks,” Cruz continued.

“Just once, I’d like to see a reporter say to Joe Biden when he stands at the damn podium in the White House without a mask, ‘Mr. President, why aren’t you wearing a mask?.’

“Just once, I’d like to see you say to Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, when she stands at the podium with no mask, ‘Ms. Psaki, why don’t you have a mask?’

“The questions are only directed at one side, and I got to say that the American people see the hypocrisy.

“I do know Dr. Fauci’s been all over the map about it.

“He’s said yes masks, no masks, he’s said, ‘Oh, I lied to the American people because they couldn’t handle it.’

“At some point, the American people ought to be able to exercise their own freedom and make their decision,” Cruz said.

Ted was speaking to the press to push back on the Dems efforts to pass a voting bill.

From The Hill:

Democrats are warning that they could box themselves out of winning Senate races in key states unless they change the legislative filibuster and pass voting rights and election reform legislation.

The fear boils down to a belief among Senate Democrats that unless they take federal action, changes being made by GOP-controlled state legislatures will make it harder for key constituency groups to vote, which would make it harder for Democrats to win elections. That, in turn, would make it harder for Democrats to keep or win back control of the Senate in the future.

The argument has been made to Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) as colleagues try to sway the two holdouts to support changing the 60-vote legislative filibuster without GOP support.

Unless Manchin and Sinema flip on the filibuster, Democrats will be unable to move their own voting rights measures.
