A congresswoman has landed herself in hot water over efforts by the Democrats and their corporate media allies to torpedo former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) now-withdrawn nomination for President Donald Trump’s attorney general.
According to the Washington Examiner, House Ethics Committee ranking member Susan Wild (D-PA) is thought to have been at the center of a leak that sought to smear Gaetz’s reputation.
The leak was related to a controversial Ethics Committee report regarding Gaetz’s internal investigation.
Now, House Republicans are considering disciplinary actions against Wild.
The discipline could include a censure resolution.
However, Republicans would need to bring the resolution to the floor no later than next week as Wild is set to leave Congress in January.
Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) has reportedly been asked for his “view” on whether or not to bring the resolution to punish Wild to the House floor.
“House Ethics discussions are confidential, and House Ethics has no jurisdiction over individuals not serving in Congress,” Perry said in a post on X.
“There must be consequences for ‘leaking.’”
He added, “How can anyone have any faith in the House Ethics Committee when one of its own members are engaged in unethical practices.”

Notably, Wild has been absent from recent Ethics Committee meetings discussing the report.
While it wasn’t clear exactly why she skipped the meetings, a spokesperson for her office released a statement to The Hill.
Jed Ober, Wild’s chief of staff, wrote:
“Rep. Wild was frustrated by the manner in which the report was handled and didn’t feel it was fruitful to participate in any further meetings on its ‘potential’ release.
“Characterizing it as anything more is inaccurate.
“There will be no further statement.”
Perry received mixed reactions to his announcement.
Many social media users are doubting that anything will happen to her.

“Are they going to get a strongly worded letter in their file or fired by the American people?
“If you people in Congress won’t do your job, we the people will do it for you. Despicable.”
Another X user wrote:
