Trey Gowdy Crushes Chris Wallace’s New CNN Show in Sunday Night Showdown, Triples Audience

Former Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) has crushed Chris Wallace’s new CNN show in the ratings after the two went head-to-head in a Sunday night showdown.

Wallace has a new show on CNN, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace.”

Wallace’s show competes head-to-head with Gowdy’s Sunday show on Fox News, “Sunday Night In America With Trey Gowdy.”

However, the “competition” from the two “rival” shows was virtually nonexistent as Gowdy shredded Wallace in the ratings “battle.”

Gowdy beat Wallace across the board, delivering over three times the audience of CNN’s offering.

Trey Gowdy scored a massive 1.3 million viewers on Sunday while Chris Wallace scored an anemic 401,000 viewers for his much-hyped CNN premiere.

To make it even worse for Wallace, Gowdy enjoys 78,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic while Wallace earned only 44,000 of the same demo.

Fox News averaged 1.2 million viewers on Sunday while CNN and MSNBC finished far behind, continuing the conservative network’s dominance over its rivals.

According to Radaronline:

“The legendary broadcaster’s new show on CNN premiered on Sunday and was only able to deliver 401,000 viewers in the 7 PM/ET hour.

“Wallace pulled in only 43,800 in the 25-54 age demo.

“To make matters worse, the program was down double digits across every category versus the 2022 average.

“On Fox News, at the same time period, Trey Gowdy scored a massive 1.3 million viewers with his Sunday Night In America With Trey Gowdy show.

“His program had 78k in the key 25-54 age demo.

“The conservative network blew CNN out of the water for the night with 1.2 million total viewers.”

Meanwhile, Wallace’s show has been garnering far from favorable reviews.

A report on one segment from the New York Post appears to spell doom for Wallace:

Chris Wallace quizzed Alex Rodriguez about his love life, challenging Jennifer Lopez’s ex if he was “husband material” or simply incapable of settling down.

Wallace interviewed A-Rod as part of the first installment of his new streaming show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” a celebrity interview program available on HBO Max.

“I worked a lot on this question,” Wallace told the baseball broadcaster and retired Yankee slugger for their sit-down, which will air on CNN this Sunday night.

The episode with A-Rod will premiere on the streamer HBO Max on Friday.

An excerpt of their interview was reported by The Hill.

“Do you think you’re husband material or honestly, that you just like the chase?”

Rodriguez responded: “First of all, I would say I’m glad I’m not ever going to be a presidential candidate ‘cause you would hammer me.”
