Trump & Biden Hold Cordial White House Meeting, Promise Smooth Transition: ‘Welcome Back’

President Donald Trump returned to the White House today as he prepares to move back into the Oval Office in January.

Trump met with outgoing President Joe Biden on Wednesday to discuss the transition of power.

However, the longtime political rivals were strikingly cordial during their reunion.

“Well, Mr. President-elect, and former President, Donald, congratulations,” Biden said in the Oval Office, noting that he was “looking forward to … a smooth transition.”

“So, welcome,” Biden added. “Welcome back.”

Trump was similarly cordial in his response.

“Politics is tough, and in many cases, it’s not a very nice world. But it is a nice world today, and I appreciate it very much,” Trump said.

“A transition that’s so smooth, it’ll be as smooth as it can get.”

After Biden was ousted from his re-election campaign by top Democrats, Trump has hinted that has sympathized with him.

Despite their obvious rivalry, Biden, like Trump, became a target of the Democrat machine when he appeared to be standing in the way of the Left’s power grab.

Trump has even suggested that he may pardon Biden’s son Hunter for the sake of unity.

After Trump finished speaking before their White House meeting, members of the media began shouting questions at the two presidents.

Reporters were only allowed in the Oval Office for these brief opening moments as the actual meeting was held privately.

Biden and Trump shared a knowing smirk amid the cacophony as reporters yelled out.

Trump arrived at the White House after a triumphant meeting with House Republicans.

Trump touted Republicans’ electoral victories and threw his support behind House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Wednesday’s meeting comes at the end of an often-fiery relationship between the two presidents.

Democrats have long sought to brand Trump a “threat to democracy.”

Biden’s election replacement, Vice President Kamala Harris, picked up and intensified the “fascist” narrative in the final days of her presidential campaign.

In a desperate move, Harris gave a public address to smear Trump and his supporters as “fascists” and “Nazis.”

Biden had repeatedly claimed that he was the only candidate capable of defeating Trump.

However, he withdrew from the presidential race over the Summer.

He was forced by top Democrats to step down after a disastrous debate performance against Trump highlighted the president’s age and faltering mental state.

Trump handily defeated Harris at the ballot box with a historic landslide victory.

He swept all seven swing states and 312 electoral votes.

Trump also made history by winning the popular vote.

Though it is tradition for outgoing presidents to meet with their successors in the White House, today’s meeting was unique.

Not since Grover Cleveland’s 1892 defeat of Benjamin Harrison has an outgoing president handed power over to a former president.

Trump is only the second president in history to win two non-consecutive terms.

While Trump and Biden kept with tradition, their first ladies did not.

As Slay News reported, Melania Trump declined Jill Biden’s invitation to the traditional First Ladies’ tea.

Her refusal was reportedly a response to the Biden administration’s raid on the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

A source stated that Melania Trump believes the “Bidens are disgusting” following the raid.
