President Donald Trump finally broke his silence on the big shakeup at CNN that saw Don Lemon lose his primetime show.
As Slay News recently reported, Lemon has been moved to a co-host role in the mornings after previously being the star and in control of his own primetime show.
Trump responded by shredding the fallen CNN star.
“They call me a ‘ratings machine,'” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
“Don Lemon was also a ratings machine – in reverse.
“He killed ratings, ate them alive, and always will.
“If he interviewed Elvis, back from the dead, nobody would watch.
“Add him to the list of Joe Scarborough and his lovely, soothing bride.
“They are in the ‘can’ also, but now can compete against ‘the dumbest man on television.’
“Should help them a lot!
“A small step for television, a giant step for mankind.
“Don Lemon often called ‘the dumbest man on television’ having made even Lebron James look smart during their interview two years ago, has been FIRED from his prime time evening spot on CNN – extremely low ratings – and will be thrown into their ‘Death Valley’ morning show.
“I assume this means a BIG salary cut prior to his Complete & Total future firing from Ratings Challenged (to put it mildly!) CNN.
“Good luck Don, you’ll need it,” he said.
Don Lemon will be moved to mornings at 6 am as part of a new morning show.
The morning show will get a new name and a new format.
Joining Lemon will be Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.
“This demonstrates our commitment to the morning and how important it is to me,” CNN’s new boss Chris Licht said.
“The show will set the tone of the entire day, and it will set the tone for the news organization.”
Licht is still searching for a permanent host for the 9 pm role that Chris Cuomo had before he was fired.
Harlow said: “Don has been one of my closest friends for more than a decade — there for every milestone along the way.
“I’m consistently in awe of Kaitlan’s reporting and the remarkable woman she is.
“I can’t wait to laugh with them and learn from them each morning.”
Lemon said:
“I was honestly floored when Chris Licht asked me to do this, and I’m honored by his belief in me.”
Collins said:
“I can’t wait to wake with our viewers and do the news every day.
“So pour a cup of coffee and join us.”
