Trump Calls Missouri Lawmaker after Daughter and Son-in-Law Killed by Haitian Gang

President Donald Trump has called Missouri State Rep. Ben Baker (R) to offer condolences after his daughter and son-in-law were slaughtered by a gang in Haiti.

The slain couple was in the nation as Christian missionaries, Breitbart reported.

Democrat President Joe Biden often speaks about his own grief to stricken parents, usually adding false claims to the story.

However, Trump offered true worlds of consolation to Baker.

“Just got off the phone with Donald J Trump,” the Republican lawmaker wrote in a post on X.

“He was just calling to give condolences to us and to the family for Davy and Natalie.

“He really does care about people,” Baker wrote.

He noted that Trump described Natalie and Davy Lloyd as “beautiful.”

Baker ended his post with, “Thank you, Mr. President.”

The pair was shot on May 22 at 9 p.m. after falling victim to gang violence that plagues the Caribbean nation, Fox News reported.

They were there as part of the Christian nonprofit Missions in Haiti that Davy Lloyd’s parents started.

Missions in Haiti reported that Natalie and Davy Lloyd and several children were “ambushed by a gang of three trucks full of guys” at the church where they were hosting a youth group.

“Davy was taken to the house tied up and beat,” a Missions in Haiti social media post noted.

“The gang then took our trucks and loaded everything up they wanted and left,” Missions In Haiti added.

Then “another gang” showed up “to see what was going on and if they could help, so they say.”

Unfortunately, what ensued was more violence.

“No one understood what they were doing, not sure what took place, but one was shot and killed, and now this gang went into full attack mode,” Missions In Haiti added.

Meanwhile, Davy and Natalie Lloyd remained at the house with another person named Jude.

They were in communication with the nonprofit as they hid during the attack, but the Lloyds ultimately met their demise.

Baker announced the death of his daughter and son-in-law in a post to Facebook Thursday along with a photo of the couple.

He said their bodies were recovered by the U.S. State Department.

The rest of the post made it clear that the gravity of the tragedy weighed heavily on the lawmaker.

“My heart is broken in a thousand pieces,” Baker wrote in the crushing post.

“I’ve never felt this kind of pain.

“They went to Heaven together.

“Please pray for my family we desperately need strength,” he added.

“And please pray for the Lloyd family as well.

“I have no other words for now,” Baker concluded.

Trump not only spoke publicly about Natalie and Davy Lloyd’s death, but he also went the extra mile.

He reached out to Baker in a personal phone call.

At the time of writing, Biden has not been in contact with Baker.
