President Donald Trump is seriously considering Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as his running mate for the 2024 election, according to a new report.
Rumors are swirling in South Florida that Trump is planning to officially announce that he is running for president again before the midterms.
Some reports coming from Mar-a-Lago say Trump wants to throw down a marker and clear the field before other candidates enter the race.
Trump has said he has refrained from announcing so far because of campaign finance laws.
According to a new report from Florida, Trump is getting serious about his VP choice and is eyeing Elise Stefanik as his running mate.
Trump has publicly stated that he was considering picking a woman as his running mate.
Chris Ruddy, a longtime friend of Trump’s, said: “President Trump thinks very highly of Elise Stefanik.
“She has been talked about in circles close to him as a potential vice presidential.
“And there’s a feeling among a lot of people on the Republican side that they need to have a woman on the ticket this time.”
“Congresswoman Stefanik is 100% focused on serving New York’s 21st Congressional District and as House Republican Conference Chair helping lead the efforts to take back the House in 2022 to fire Nancy Pelosi once and for all to save America,” said Alex DeGrasse, an adviser to Stefanik.
“I could see Trump convincing himself he needs to pick a female VP to help with his suburban women problem,” one of the Trump advisers said.
“I want to congratulate Elise on her success,” Trump said earlier about Elise.
“Man is she moving fast.
“That means at this rate she’ll be president in about 6 years.”

According to CNN:
Current and former advisers and others in Trump’s orbit have privately argued that the New York Republican, who replaced Rep. Liz Cheney as the no. 3 House Republican last year, is a fierce and loyal attack dog, and Trump would benefit from tapping a woman for vice president should he run again.
Two people familiar with the matter said Trump has been surveying close friends and allies on what they think of Stefanik, one of several Republican women he is possibly eyeing for the potential VP slot, though he has not ruled out a few male contenders, too.
