President Donald Trump scored a huge victory today after his new social media platform, Truth Social, shot to number one in the Apple App Store on its first day live.
The new platform was a massive hit, despite many people struggling to create accounts as demand skyrocketed.
Many who were already on the waitlist were able to register and create an account.
Former GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, now CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, said he was hoping to be ‘fully operation’ by the end of March.
Nunes said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo: “This week we will begin to roll out on the Apple App Store.
“That’s going to be awesome because we’re going to get so many more people that are going to be on the platform.
“Our goal is, I think we’re going to hit it, I think by the end of March we’re going to be fully operational at least within the United States.”
In a series of posts late Friday night, Truth Social’s chief product officer shocked the tech world and said Trump’s new platform would be ready to go today.
“We’re currently set for release in the Apple App store for Monday, Feb. 21,” the executive said.

Former US President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social became available for download in Apple’s App Store on Sunday night, but some people had trouble creating an account. Despite this, it hit No. 1 in the App Store’s top charts early Monday.
People who downloaded the app reported seeing error messages when they tried entering a birthdate, e-mail or phone number to create an account. “Something went wrong. Please try again,” the message read.
Others reported they were placed on a waitlist after signing up. “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist,” read the message, which included a waitlist number. People who preordered Truth Social had the app automatically downloaded to their iPhones.
The app’s release underscores Trump’s plans to return to social media after being booted from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube last year.
