President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that bans federally-funded schools from mandating Covid “vaccines.”
The order blocks schools with “vaccine” mandates from receiving federal funding.
Trump cited parental rights and government overreach for the move.
The administration argues that medical decisions should rest with families, not bureaucrats.
The order was detailed in a fact sheet provided by the White House.
Aside from prohibiting all federal funding to any schools that mandate Covid “vaccines,” the order directs the secretaries of Education and Health and Human Services to issue compliance guidelines and plans to end existing mandates.
The secretaries will also create a report of non-compliant institutions.
They will then establish a process for blocking funds from supporting any that impose mandates.
The institutions affected include educational service agencies, state education agencies, local education agencies, elementary schools, secondary schools, or any institutions of higher education that require students to receive Covid “vaccines” to attend in-person educational programs.
The White House fact sheet states:
“President Trump is committed to protecting personal freedoms and ensuring that Americans’ education isn’t conditioned on unnecessary government mandates.
“[Trump] is dedicated to ensuring that American students are not forced to choose between their education and their medical freedom … fulfilling his campaign promise: ‘I will not allow schools to impose COVID vaccine mandates.’”
In his first week back in office, Trump reinstated service members dismissed for refusing the Covid “vaccine.”
Trump ordered that they all receive full back pay and benefits.
He also revoked former President Joe Biden’s executive order creating “vaccine” mandates for certain federal workers, contractors, and those traveling internationally.
Trump campaigned against “vaccine” mandates during the 2024 election.
During a rally in Richmond, Virginia, Trump vowed that he would “not give one penny to any school that has a vaccine mandate or a mask mandate.”
When asked if that statement intended to include all vaccine mandates, such as polio or measles shots, a campaign spokesperson at the time said Trump meant Covid “vaccine” mandates.
The move comes as Covid shots are increasingly linked to the surges of deaths, deadly diseases, and disabilities that have emerged since early 2021.
Critics argue that not enough time was spent on research and testing before the vaccine was mass-distributed.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), however, has maintained that the shot is “safe and effective.”
On Friday, Trump signed a sweeping set of executive orders.
While cutting federal funding for schools that mandate Covid vaccinations, Trump also declared an aggressive push for U.S. “energy dominance.”
The orders signal a sharp policy reversal from the Biden administration.
Trump’s team is vowing to dismantle regulatory barriers and unleash domestic energy production across oil, gas, coal, and critical minerals.
At the signing, Trump established the National Energy Dominance Council, chaired by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, with a mandate to expand drilling, revive coal, fast-track pipeline approvals, and reclaim 625 million acres of public lands previously restricted for energy development.
Officials framed this as a fight against “Biden’s war on American energy.”
The Trump admin revealed that these actions will lower costs, enhance national security, and fund AI infrastructure.
Trump’s move to stop Covid “vaccine” mandates was one action the medical freedom movement will appreciate.
Any school district or state that mandates the Covid injections will lose federal funding.
