President Donald Trump took a swipe at Tesla CEO Elon Musk during a rally in Alaska.
Trump was in the state to support Sarah Palin’s bid for Congress and Kelly Tshibaka’s primary challenge to Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
Musk has been highly critical of President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party’s censorship allies in Silicon Valley.
He said he would be voting Republican in the future after watching the Democrats create chaos.
He also publicly suggested he would back Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for president in 2024.
Trump and Musk were almost social media competitors.
However, Musk pulled the plug on his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter earlier this week.
“One of our highest priorities under a Republican Congress will be to stop left-wing censorship and to restore free speech in America,” Trump said.
“And go out, by the way, while I’m here and sign up now, for Truth Social.
“It’s hot as a pistol and you see that I called that one, right? Elon. Elon!”
“Elon is not going to buy Twitter.
“Where did you hear that before? From me.
“He’s got himself a mess.
“You know, he said the other day, ‘I’ve never voted for a Republican.’
“I said I didn’t know that.
“He told me he voted for me.
“So he’s another bullshit artist but he’s not going to be buying it.
“Although he might later.
“Who the hell knows what’s going to happen?
“He’s got a pretty rotten contract.
“I looked at his contract, not a good contract.
“Sign up for Truth. We love Truth,” he said.
Musk said Twitter has “not complied with its contractual obligations” surrounding the deal, in a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
It is not entirely clear whether Twitter’s board will accept the $1 billion breakup fee. https://t.co/TiwE4psu4j
