President Donald Trump is doubling down on his warnings about Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg after the House voted to ban the Big Tech giant’s biggest threat – TikTok.
Zuckerburg’s Meta owns three major platforms; Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
However, the company has been struggling to compete with the competitive threat from the Chinese Communist Party’s popular video streaming app TikTok.
Meta has become so desperate to fend off the competition that it made drastic changes to Instagram to mimic key features of TikTok.
However, the efforts have failed to tempt away young Americans who flock to TikTok over Zuckerberg’s apps.
On Wednesday, the U.S. House voted overwhelmingly to pass legislation to crack down on TikTok over national security concerns.
While Trump previously supported banning TikTik, he has now grown more concerned with the domestic threat that Zuckerberg and Meta pose.
During his first term, Trump led efforts to ban TikTik in America.
However, his plans were blocked by congressional Democrats.
Since then, Meta and Zuckerberg have emerged as a significant threat to public freedom.
Meta’s censorship of conservatives coupled with Zuckerberg’s efforts to elect Democrats have become a major cause for concern.
Trump’s reversal came after it was found that Zuckerberg and Facebook significantly impacted the outcome of the 2020 election.
The House bill, which passed with a 352-65 vote, would force the app’s parent company, Chinese-owned ByteDance, to sell TikTok.
If CCP-linked ByteDance refuses, TikTok will face a ban from U.S. app stores and web hosting services.
After the bill passed in the House, Trump sat down with Newsmax host Greg Kelly to explain his objections.
During the discussion, Trump immediately turned his attention to Facebook, a platform that openly censures and bans conservative voices.
He also blasted the company’s leader Zuckerberg, who funds efforts to sway elections for Democrats.
“Facebook is the enemy of the people,” Trump warned.

TRANSCRIPT:
Greg Kelly: “One more thing from today’s news, TikTok.
“The Republicans just voted – the Republicans and Democrats just voted to ban it.
“You don’t think they should ban it right now?”
President Trump: “Well, I didn’t say anything other than you have to look at Facebook.
“Facebook is the enemy of the people.
“They did those lockboxes.
“They spent 500 million.
“You know, if you spent more than $5,600 or whatever the number is, if you spent a $100 more, they put you in prison for campaign violations. Right?
“Zuckerberg or Zuckerbucks, whatever you want to call him, is spending – the number is crazy – he’s spending $500 million in the last election and nothing happens to him.
“And that money is being passed all over the place, especially under lockboxes or so-called lockboxes because they’re not lockboxes.
“I call them open boxes.
“And I think that something has to be done with Facebook.
“And one thing I will say, I don’t want Facebook to get bigger because I think Facebook is an equal threat.
“And that includes with China.
“Because if China wants to know anything about what Facebook knows, they’re going to give them the information.”
